Kollecta Referral Policy

The Kollecta referral policy explains how you can earn a reward for introducing businesses that need help recovering charged-off debt. It applies to accountants, bookkeepers, CFOs, attorneys, credit professionals and existing clients who refer through our official form.

Know someone sitting on unpaid receivables? Here's exactly how it works.

Takes ~2 minutes
Decision in 2 business days
Credit window 12 months
Paid Within 30 days, ACH
Quick Check

Are you ready to refer?

You know a business with past-due accounts that have already been charged off
They're not already talking to Kollecta
They've said it's okay to share their details

Ticked all three? Submit your referral in about two minutes.

01 · Eligibility

Who can participate

If your clients trust you with their finances, you're probably the first to hear when a customer stops paying. That makes you the right person to refer.

Accountants and CPAs

Who spot aging receivables during reviews or year-end close

Bookkeepers and outsourced AR teams

Who chase invoices every week

Fractional CFOs

Advising on cash flow and write-offs

Commercial attorneys

Whose clients need recovery without litigation

Factoring and trade credit professionals

Handling non-performing accounts

Existing Kollecta clients

Who know how we work firsthand

Not eligible
Current Kollecta employees and contractors
Self-referrals, meaning you can't refer your own business or one you own a stake in
Businesses already in our pipeline, including any we're already in active conversation with
02 · Qualification

What counts as a qualified referral

A referral qualifies when it passes all four checks below. Not sure about one? Send it anyway, and we'll let you know within 2 business days.

01

New business

The company isn't already in the Kollecta pipeline.

Qualifies: A manufacturing client who has never contacted us
02

Post charge-off fit

Accounts are already written off and need third-party collection. We don't offer early-out or first-party collections.

Qualifies: Commercial invoices 180+ days past due and charged off
03

Placement size

The portfolio meets our minimum placement size, which we confirm during review.

Qualifies: A batch of written-off accounts rather than a single small invoice
04

State coverage

Debtors are located in states where Kollecta is licensed to collect.

Good to know: We confirm coverage for every referral before outreach
03 · Process

How to submit a referral

Three steps, about two minutes, and you'll always know where your referral stands.

1

Fill in the form

Share the business name, a contact person, and a rough idea of the balance. Your own details let us credit you.

2

Get your confirmation

You'll receive an email with a referral ID and timestamp. Keep it: that timestamp decides attribution.

3

Hear back fast

We review every referral and confirm whether it qualifies within 2 business days. If it does, we reach out to the business within 3 business days and keep you updated at each stage.

Tip: A quick heads-up to your contact before you submit means they'll expect our call, and referrals with a warm intro close faster.

04 · Reward

Reward structure

Here's what you earn, when it's triggered, and when it lands in your account.

Reward amount

Shown on the referral form and confirmed in writing when your referral qualifies.

Limit: one reward per qualified business, no matter how many accounts it places with us.

Trigger The referred business signs a placement agreement with Kollecta
Timing Within 30 days of the signed agreement, once your tax form is on file
Method ACH transfer to the bank account you provide
05 · Fairness

Attribution and duplicate referrals

Fairness matters, so the rules are simple and timestamp-based.

First submission wins

The first complete form we receive for a business gets the credit.

Attribution lasts 12 months

If the business signs within 12 months of your submission, the reward is yours.

Tie-breakers

If two partners submit the same business on the same day, we compare the timestamps on both confirmation emails. If we still can't separate them, we ask the business who introduced Kollecta, and their answer decides.

We'll always tell you if your referral turns out to be a duplicate, so you're never left guessing.

06 · Compliance

Compliance and professional obligations

Many of our partners are licensed professionals, and we want every referral to keep you on the right side of your rules.

Get consent first

Ask your client before sharing their name, contact details, or account information with Kollecta.

Know your professional rules

CPA commission and disclosure rules, and state bar rules on referral fees, vary by state. Checking what applies to you is your responsibility.

No fee sharing where it's prohibited

If your state or professional body bars you from accepting a referral fee, you can still refer. Just tell us to waive the reward, and we will.

Changes to this policy

Kollecta may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect on the date shown at the top of this page, and we’ll email active referral partners at least 30 days before any change that affects rewards. Referrals submitted before a change are honored under the terms in place when you submitted them. This policy sits alongside our Terms and Conditions.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Accountants, CPAs, bookkeepers, outsourced AR teams, fractional CFOs, commercial attorneys, factoring and trade credit professionals, and existing Kollecta clients.

The business must be new to Kollecta, have charged-off accounts that need third-party collection, meet our minimum placement size, and have debtors in states we cover. We confirm qualification within 2 business days.

Within 30 days of the referred business signing a placement agreement with Kollecta. Your W-9 (or W-8BEN) must be on file before we can release payment.

It varies, depending on your location and profession. Several rules governing CPA's and state bar rules prohibit or limit fees from referrals or demand disclosure. Ensure that you take a look at these rules first so that you know if they allow fees to be charged.

The first complete submission gets the credit, based on the timestamp in your confirmation email. If submissions are too close to separate, we ask the referred business who introduced them.
